Splitmaxx Premium
What's free and what's Premium?
Logging workouts, history, stats, streaks, cloud backup, CSV export and the muscle heatmap widget are all free.
Splitmaxx Premium adds:
- Ladders: compete with friends on the lifts you pick.
- Health widgets: Recovery, Sleep and Heart Rate Zones, from Apple Health.
How much is it?
$6.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US (the annual plan works out about 28% cheaper). Prices in other countries are set by the App Store and shown in your local currency on the Premium screen before you buy.
New subscribers get a 1-week free trial. The Premium screen shows whether you're eligible. Apple gives one trial per Apple ID, so if you've had it before you won't see it again.
How do I subscribe?
Tap a locked widget, the Ladder tab, or You → Get Splitmaxx Premium, pick monthly or annual, and confirm with your Apple ID. Premium unlocks straight away.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Splitmaxx on your iPhone (or tap You → Splitmaxx Premium in the app, which opens the same page). Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
Deleting your Splitmaxx account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in Settings first, or Apple keeps charging you.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a refund is granted, Premium ends on your account.
I got a new phone and Premium is gone. / I reinstalled the app.
Sign in to the same Splitmaxx account, then tap You → Restore Purchases. Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple ID you subscribed with.
One subscription covers one Splitmaxx account at a time. If you restore on a different Splitmaxx account, Premium moves to that account.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Ladders and the health widgets lock again. Nothing is deleted: your workouts, history and ladder standings stay, and if you subscribe again you pick up where you left off. Ladders you were in keep running for the other members.
Keeping your data safe
How is my data backed up?
Your workouts live on your phone. While you're signed in, Splitmaxx also keeps a backup in the cloud automatically: about 30 seconds after you change something, and again whenever you leave the app. You don't have to do anything.
The cloud keeps your latest backup plus up to 10 earlier snapshots (dated copies, cut at most once every 12 hours), so you can go back to an older version if something goes wrong.
Backups only happen while you're signed in. If you're signed out, nothing is being backed up.
I'm getting a new phone. How do I move my data?
Do this before you wipe or trade in the old phone:
- On the old phone, open You → Backups & Export and tap Back up to cloud now. Wait for "Backed up to the cloud."
- Set up the new phone and install Splitmaxx.
- Sign in with the same account you used on the old phone (email, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google, whichever you used originally).
- When the app asks "Restore your data?", tap Restore from cloud, then close and reopen the app when it says it's done.
Keep the old phone until you've confirmed your history is on the new one.
If you signed up with Apple's "Hide My Email" or a different Google account, you have to sign in with that same method on the new phone. A different sign-in creates a different, empty account.
How do I restore an earlier version of my data?
You → Backups & Export → Restore from cloud. Pick the latest backup or an earlier snapshot. Restoring replaces everything in the app and can't be undone, so if you're unsure, tap Export a backup file first.
Can I keep my own copy?
Yes. On You → Backups & Export:
- Export a backup file saves a full copy to Files, Drive or email. Restore from a file brings it back later.
- Export workout history (CSV) gives you one row per logged set for a month, a year, or all time, for spreadsheets.
The app says automatic backups are failing.
Tap the warning on You → Backups & Export to try again. Failures are usually a bad connection and clear up on their own. If it keeps failing, email us at support@splitmaxx.com with the message shown.
Your account
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap Forgot password?. We'll email you a link to set a new one. If you signed up with Apple or Google, there's no password. Use that button to sign in.
How do I change my name or email?
You → Manage Account. Changing your email sends a confirmation link to the new address, and the change happens once you tap it. Your name is what other ladder members see.
I never got the confirmation email.
Check spam first. In Manage Account, tap Resend confirmation email. If it still doesn't arrive, email support@splitmaxx.com.
How do I delete my account?
You → Manage Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and everything in it, on your phone and in the cloud (workouts, cloud backups, ladder memberships and standings, share cards), and it can't be undone. Export a backup file or CSV first if you want to keep anything.
If you created a ladder that other people are still in, it passes to another member instead of being deleted.
Can't sign in and need your account deleted? Email support@splitmaxx.com from the address on the account and we'll take care of it.
Ladders
How do I join a ladder?
Ladders are invite-only. Open the invite link a friend shares with you (it looks
like splitmaxx.com/invite/<code>) and it opens in the app. Ladders score a
lift weekly or monthly, and only members of the same ladder can see the
standings.
How do I leave a ladder?
Open the ladder on the Ladder tab and tap Leave ladder.
What can other people see?
Members of your ladder see your display name and your result on that ladder's lift. Share cards you create are public images that anyone with the link can view, so ladder cards can show other members' names. Only share them if everyone's comfortable with that.
Notifications and Apple Health
How do I turn notifications on or off?
You → Push notifications shows whether they're on. The first time, tapping it asks for permission. After that it opens iOS Settings, where you switch notifications on or off for Splitmaxx. Notifications cover your daily step-goal alert and ladder alerts (rival callouts, nudges, challenges). Your rest timer shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island on its own; it doesn't need notifications turned on.
What does Splitmaxx do with Apple Health?
It only reads from Health (steps, sleep, heart rate, resting heart rate and heart rate variability) to show your step count and power the Recovery, Sleep and Heart Rate Zones widgets. That data stays on your phone: it isn't uploaded or included in cloud backups. To change what it can read, use You → Apple Health, or the Health app on your phone.
Still stuck?
Email support@splitmaxx.com. It helps to include:
- what you were doing and what happened
- the app version (shown at the bottom of the You tab)
- your iPhone model and iOS version
Please don't send your password. We'll never ask for it.
